Artist Statement: My inspiration was Maya Angelou's I know Why the Caged Bird Sings. As incarcerated individuals we are caged but that does not mean we can't keep the music going. It defies the design to create something beautiful in a place so desolate. So p;ease kkeep on singing, creating, writing, living, and surviving.
